What to expect

We will begin each session by discussing any problems and symptoms you may have, I will then offer suggestions and explain the treatment options available to you. I may also carry out a range of movement tests to help establish the most appropriate treatment for you. A combination of massage, compression and stretching techniques will be used to meet your specific needs. I finish each session by offering follow up advice on how to optimise your treatment.

What causes the problems?

Every day activities (such as sitting in front of a desk all day with poor posture), training and sporting activities all cause a constant build up of tension in the muscles and may lead to stresses on joints, ligaments, tendons, as well as the muscles themselves. These stresses can lead to overuse and these areas of overuse cause muscle imbalances (where certain areas of the body have to work harder than others), leading to pain and discomfort. Massage is an effective therapy for releasing muscle tension and restoring balance to the body. Received regularly, sports massage may help prevent injuries, and promote a sense of well being.
