About Me

I have always had a passion for sport and from a young age have successfully competed at county level across a number of sporting disciplines. I have a particularly keen interest in outdoor sports and go out biking or skiing as often as I can.

I graduated from Leeds University with a 2.1 BSc Hons in Sports Science and Physiology during 2005 and went on to travel the world for a year.  Having always been committed to working in a sporting environment, I completed a course in sports massage in 2006. I have since completed a second University Certificate of Enhanced Professional Development sports massage course through Sports Performance Services, the only university accredited massage course in the country. I am currently Level 4 qualified on the National Qualifications Framework, this level of qualification recognises an individual as being a qualified sports massage practitioner. I am also affiliated with the Sports Massage Association, the professional body for sports massage practitioners in the UK.

I have had considerable practical sports massage experience, including work with Durham City football club, Newcastle Falcons Rugby Club, Tynedale Rugby Club and at many sporting and recreational events, such as the Great North Run, Athletes Angels events, O2 festival, Donnington Park and Leeds festival. My regular clients range from cross channel swimmers, high performance tri-athletes and netballers from the Team Northumbria super league team, through to anyone who would like to experience the many benefits of sports massage.

I thoroughly enjoy my work and the variety that comes from meeting individual client requirements, whether it be a simple stress relief or relaxation massage, as part of an ongoing training programme or preparation or recovery from an event.  I will always take time to listen to your needs and adapt the treatment accordingly.
